Photo tips for your lithophane

Not every photo is suitable for a lithophane.
However, we can make a lithophane from any photo , because for some memories you want to cherish, you simply did not have a professional photographer at hand.
That's why we do everything we can to optimize your photos with our software , so that they look as beautiful as possible.

1. Colors do wonders

Colorful photos truly come to life in our color lithophanes . The more shades, the more intense the play of light.

2. Avoid too dark or too bright light

It's okay if a photo is a little too dark or too bright . We'll improve this as much as possible with our image optimization tools .
Note that deep shadows can hide details, while overexposure can wash out colors due to too much white.

3. The sharper the better

High resolution ensures sharp details in the relief, especially with larger lithophane formats .
Is your photo a bit older or has it been shared frequently? Don't worry: our enhancement tools will help you get the best results .

4. Consider the aspect ratio

Our lithophanes have a 3:4 or 4:3 ratio . If your photo is a different size, we'll crop out a small piece of the background if necessary .
We always make sure that people's faces remain clearly visible , that is our top priority.

5. Are you still in doubt?

Don't worry! Feel free to send us your photo . We'll create a free simulation so you can immediately see what your photo will look like as lithophane.
Already placed an order? Don't panic. If we notice during our inspection that the photo might yield unexpected results, we'll always contact you to discuss this with you.

The golden rule for the best results

Preferably use colorful photos with well-lit faces.
The better the quality (high resolution), the more detail and depth your lithophane will have.
