What is a photogravure?

A photo permanently engraved into a material.

How does it work?

1. The photo is converted into an engraving image
We edit the photo so that all details and contrasts are optimally visible for engraving.

2. The laser engraves the photo into the material
With a powerful precision laser, the image is engraved point by point into the surface.

3. The result depends on the material and technique
Depending on the material and engraving technique, different shades and depths can be created, which together make the photo visible.

What is a lithophane photo?

A 3D photo that comes to life when light shines through the back.

How does it work?

1. On the outside, you only see white
You only see a white 3D relief. But... the real image is hidden in the lithophane.

2. Inside is a hidden color photo
We print with four colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and white), layer by layer. The colors are printed on top of each other, just like with a regular printer, but in 3D.

3. Only with light does everything come to life
As soon as light shines through the back, the full color photo magically appears
